The LEED Gold-certified 500 Lake Shore Drive incorporates a high-performance building enclosure, a living green wall, efficient building systems, daylighting, a green roof, and lush ground level landscaping of native species.
In addition to ground floor convenience retail, the building features comprehensive luxury amenities, including a private gym, outdoor pool deck, cinema, dog run and pet spa, game and reading lounges, coffee bar, business center, and expansive outdoor landscaped garden.
500 Lake Shore Drive is an important part of the Chicago skyline and, as one of the last parcels of developable land on Lake Shore Drive, was even more important to the owner to continue a legacy of great design in Chicago. The client’s programmatic and design requirements were collaboratively and successfully filled by the architect, creating a best-in-class luxury multi-family apartment high rise.
The 2014 Best in American Living Awards were presented at the 2015 International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas.
