A Project to Match
The spirit that makes Baltimore is at the heart of Anthem House, a new $100 million lifestyle community in Locust Point. It features 292 apartments, 20,000 square feet of retail and dining opportunities, top-of-the-line amenities, and innovative design for a living experience that is unparalleled.
Inspired by the architecture of the San Francisco Bay but true to its local roots, Anthem House combines convenience, functionality, and cutting-edge design from the ground up. The distinctive building was constructed in an “S” shape that provides every apartment with an incredible view of the harbor or city.
Its sleek exterior and modern lobby are adorned with eye-catching murals by Maryland artist Jeff Huntington. Anthem House’s new retail and dining spaces include Jazz+Soju, a jazz-inspired restaurant, and a fitness studio, Bar Method. Amber, a coffee-to-cocktail café, will occupy 2,000 square feet in Anthem House’s lobby area, creating a blend of public and private space that is a new concept for Baltimore.
Anthem House has two elevated courtyards that together make up a full acre of outdoor space and provide stunning 360 degree unobstructed views of the harbor and the city. Anthem House’s illuminated sign overlooks the Baltimore Harbor, joining the iconic Domino Sugar, Pandora, and Natty Boh signs as part of the unique Baltimore skyline.
Going Green
Anthem House is an infill site and a brownfield site that had been vacant and unused for decades. Anthem House was built to LEED Silver standards with incorporated green technologies and sustainable features. It includes 112 bike racks, dedicated parking for 23 Low Emissions and Fuel Efficient Vehicles (LEV/FEV), and easy access to public transportation.
25 percent of the property constitutes open spaces, in the forms of irrigated courtyards and pedestrian-oriented hardscapes. Through a storm water control system, 90 percent of rain that falls on site is captured and treated.
Local Impact Packs a Punch
Baltimore is a city in crisis. Since the civil uprising of 2015, city residency has declined, crime has increased and civic pride and spirit has lagged. A new apartment community cannot change a city by itself, but Anthem House is inspiring and empowering, serving as a reminder that Baltimore is indeed a vibrant, innovative and influential city. As one of the first completed upscale apartment communities in Locust Point, a neighborhood with a rich history and a burgeoning modern sensibility, it is setting the tone and paving the way for the neighborhood’s future and finding harmony in the balance between the iconic and the emerging. In addition, A2, a smaller boutique redevelopment project part of Anthem House, will offer affordable and townhome options; adding further diversity of product-type and pricing to the Anthem House community.
