This week we travel to Rochester, Mich. for a look at the breathtaking Best in American Living Gold Award-winning Home of the Week, Washington Road Residence.
The home sits 50 feet above a pond’s edge, providing panoramic views of the fully- manicured, five-acre property. A commercial elevator services four suites as well as a studio apartment space over the garage. The home is trimmed in furniture-grade black walnut, with exposed heavy timber trusses throughout.
The home also features a one-of-a-kind, 180-degree NanaWall that brings the outdoor lanai into the hearth room. Other unique rooms in the home include a two-story library with stone fireplace and leather walls, and a hearth room/kitchen/harvest dining space, all connected by a fully suspended natural stone fireplace.
The exterior of the home features tapered stone walls, to give the feeling that the home is literally emerging from the ground.
