Home of the Week: The Kingsley

This one-of-a-kind Atlanta residence captures the age-old New England style on the exterior, all while achieving the transitional, open, clean-line feel on the inside. (And do you want to be a BALA winner? The 2018 Awards are now open!)

The traditional New England architectural presence on the exterior stands bold against the old trees maintained on the property.

The client wanted an open floor plan, but also desired multifunctional spaces that could serve as areas to escape to in privacy.

The plan converts the kitchen and family room into one open entertainment space that welcomes large crowds or small gatherings with ease.

A custom-forged, wrought-iron, 15-foot by 10-foot folding exterior door opens the inside of the home to the outside to allow enjoyment of the more than three acres of land and outdoor living spaces.

The door also secured the Kingsley a BALA Wow! Award.

The Kingsley also received comments from BALA judges like, “black frame on folding doors makes this great” and “would not have had the same impact in white or natural wood.”
