Builder: Dakota General Contractors, LLC

This 3,524 square foot home in South Carolina is actually a hunting lodge. It is on hundreds of acres with many ATV trails. The two story homes sets on a full basement that is used for all the hunting gear and bunk beds so the ones going hunting wont disturb the others who sleep in. It has a full wraparound porch to allow for easy access to every part of the home. The large exterior fireplace with flat screen TV is a favorite hang-out for many guest. This home sets in the middle of hundreds of acres and only a very small portion of trees were removed for the construction of the home. The property has lots of natural water and some open pasture that the owners maintain to help attract wildlife. The shade trees along with the full wraparound porch also help keep the heating and cooling cost low.

The 2017 Jerry Rouleau Awards for Excellence in Marketing and Home Design, presented by the Building Systems Councils and the Log and Timber Homes Council, awarded Old Oak Lodge in the Log Home Design – 3,001 – 4,000 square feet category.
